Description
African Waist Beads are a beautiful way to adorn your waist. They date back as early as the 15th Century, and during those times they were considered a “Girdle” in a sort. They are a very common traditional custom of the people of West Africa such as Ghana and Nigeria, with the Yoruba people making it very popular amongst West Africa, as they would wear them to celebrate womanhood. Many women wear them as a measurement tool to track weight loss/gain (The beads move up/down as accordingly), they are also used as a symbol of femininity. They work as a natural waist trainer, by helping to contour the body, and to help accentuate the hips. Women of all sizes can wear waist beads, you can layer them up or wear them one at a time. Our Waist Beads are Tie On only (Semi-Permanent can only be cut off), and 45 inches in length. We can also have custom made sizes up to 52 inches. High quality and can last for years.
